Which groups are the big teams in?

The seeds are spread across the twelve groups. Brazil headline Group C, Argentina are in Group J, Germany in Group E, France in Group I, Spain in Group H, and England in Group L. Host Mexico opens the tournament from Group A. Every group, with standings and fixtures, lives on the group pages.

Did all the former champions qualify?

Seven of the eight nations that have won a World Cup qualified for 2026: Brazil, Germany, Argentina, Uruguay, France, England, and Spain. The exception is four-time winner Italy, who did not qualify.
