Privacy policy
LAST UPDATED AUG 5 2026
The short version: everything you spin stays in your browser. PlaySpinWheel has no accounts, no server, and no database, so we cannot see your wheels, your results, or your history. The only data that ever leaves your device is anonymous, aggregated analytics and, where you allow it, standard advertising cookies. Everything below explains exactly what that means and the choices you have.
Who runs PlaySpinWheel?
PlaySpinWheel is an independent project and is the operator responsible for this website (referred to below as "we" or "us"). For any privacy question you can reach us at playspinwheel@gmail.com. We answer privacy and data requests at the same address.
What data stays on your device?
Your spin history, custom wheel options, streaks, sticker count, sound and volume preferences, and your cookie choice are stored only in your browser's local storage under keys that start with sk:. This information never leaves your device, is never sent to us, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser storage erases it permanently. A share link only ever contains the single result you chose to share, nothing else about you.
What analytics does PlaySpinWheel use?
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used in aggregate: page views, how often the wheel is spun, and how often results are shared. This may set cookies and collects standard usage signals such as approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google truncates), device type, and referring page. We do not collect your name, email, or any account, because there is nothing to sign up for. We never try to identify individual visitors.
How does PlaySpinWheel use Google AdSense?
PlaySpinWheel may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites on the internet. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third party's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set, and you can change that choice at any time.
Which cookies does the site use?
Here is every category of cookie and stored value the site can use, what it is for, and whether it needs your consent:
| STORED VALUE | WHAT IT DOES | SET BY | NEEDS CONSENT |
|---|---|---|---|
| sk:* | Remembers your spins, wheels, and settings on this device | PlaySpinWheel | No, stays local |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4: aggregate, anonymous usage | Yes in the EEA, UK, Switzerland | |
| __gads, __eoi | Google AdSense: serves ads, caps frequency, measures performance | Yes in the EEA, UK, Switzerland |
How do I manage cookie consent?
We use Google Consent Mode v2. If you visit from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay switched off until you accept them in the consent banner. Everywhere else, they may be active by default under an opt-out model, and you can decline at any time. To change your choice, use the banner when it appears, or clear this site's storage in your browser to be asked again. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings; the wheel still works without them.
What is the legal basis for processing?
For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, as required by the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the ePrivacy rules. You may withdraw that consent at any time. Elsewhere, we rely on legitimate interests to measure and fund a free service, subject to the opt-out choices described above.
What are your privacy rights?
Because we hold no accounts and store nothing about you on a server, there is very little personal data for us to act on. For the aggregate analytics and advertising data handled by Google, you can exercise access, deletion, and opt-out rights through the Google links above and through Google's own privacy controls. If you have a request or a question about your rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or a similar law, email us and we will help.
Is PlaySpinWheel intended for children?
PlaySpinWheel is a general-audience entertainment site and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will address it.
How long is data kept?
Values in your browser storage remain until you clear them. Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's retention settings and policies. We keep no separate copy of any of it.
Where is data processed?
The site is served from a global content network, and our analytics and advertising providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain. Using the site means this processing can take place.
Are third-party links covered?
Some pages link to external sites, such as official football sources or the ad and privacy tools mentioned above. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Please read their own policies.
Will this policy change?
We may update this policy as the site evolves or as the law changes. The date at the top always reflects the most recent revision. Meaningful changes will be obvious on this page.
Frequently asked questions
- Does PlaySpinWheel collect personal data?
- No. There are no accounts and no server database, so we cannot see who you are. Your spins, wheels, and settings stay in your browser's local storage, and only anonymous, aggregated analytics and optional advertising data ever leave your device.
- Does PlaySpinWheel use cookies?
- Only for analytics and, with your consent, advertising. Your spin history and preferences are kept in local storage, not cookies. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, analytics and ad cookies stay off until you accept them.
- How does PlaySpinWheel use Google AdSense?
- We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners can use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized ads in your Google Ads Settings.
- Can I use the site without accepting cookies?
- Yes. The wheel works fully without analytics or advertising cookies. You can decline in the consent banner or block cookies in your browser, and nothing about the tool stops working.
- How do I make a privacy request?
- Email playspinwheel@gmail.com. Because we store almost nothing about you, most requests are handled through the Google privacy controls linked on this page, and we are glad to help.
